Abstract
The main topic of this article is accuracy assessment of distances measurement by Global Positioning System (GPS). To measure the distance between two points where barriers such as tall buildings exist between them, regular geometric shapes are created where horizontal angles and sides can be measured. Trimble R3 GPS has been used for conducting this research. The results of this research indicate the accuracy of 0.45 cm for measuring distance up to 400 meters.
